Sioux Falls' Fall's Park

The Fall's Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. is gorgeous! Matthew and I went to Sioux Falls on Sunday for his Grandma Mae's 88th birthday party. Prior to the party, we decided to check out the Fall's Park and I am glad we did. I have not visited the park since I was a wee one, so it was neat to see the updates and the viewing tower. Next time we will pack a picnic lunch.

Bison used to roam the area where the falls are located.

Matthew and I walked up to the top of the viewing tower to see the entire park. Wow, what a view of the downtown and the Big Sioux River!

The water was so violent that we did not walk out on the rocks. One lady had her dog in the water and I thought for sure the dog was a goner.

Here is the new viewing tower/visitor's center.

The Sioux Falls airport is very close to the falls, so many planes flew overhead, very low as they can in for a landing.

It turned out to be a great day to visit the falls depsite the huge clouds in the sky. We missed the rain in Sioux Falls, but on the drive home it rained so hard that we could hardly see anything on the Interstate. Luckily, we drove out of it after 5 minutes and all was clear.
