Back in the early 1990's, I became friends with a family that had four girls living just down the alley and around the block from my house. I always played with the younger two, Sarah (center) and Rebecca (right). We would write letters, rollerblade, torture my little brother, and go for walks. During my sophomore year of high school, my family moved about six blocks away and we drifted apart. Fast forward to the year 2010 and I became Facebook friends with Rebecca. And we realized we only live half a mile from each other. Now we are great friends and I have reconnected with Sarah, too. So to make a long story short, I am really glad we are all friends again and Rebecca, me and her three sons went on a road trip to visit Sarah and her family.
Sarah lives about three hours away with her husband and eight kids.
(Her husband does not normally wear shirts like this, but after a football game and trip to the ER, he was told he tore ligaments in his shoulder and must wear a sling for at least a week. He was in great spirits despite his injury. Feel better Darwin!)
Here is some of what we did over the weekend:
We went on a few walks...
went to a Joann's Fabric's grand opening (yay free $10 gift card!)...
got some fabric to make three Christmas presents...
rode in a 15-passenger van....
played Nintendo DS and other games...
dribbled a basketball...
visited with Andrea (Sarah and Rebecca's older sister) and her four kids...
went to see The Hunger Games...
had some fun...
ran down hills...
tortured me with snakes (eeek!)...
painted our nails...
and had a great time!
Check back tomorrow for more pics!
