Last night I had the most interesting visit with my cute neighbor Helen. Helen is 85 years old and sometimes forgets what she has told me. The first four times I visited her house she asked me "Have you seen my house before? Come on in!" Ha!
Now that she remembers I have come to visit, she has started to give me something. First, we received a nice curtain to hang on our front door. After that I got some lemon cake....then she sent some more lemon cake. Most recently, she gave me a pretty lime green vase and a lime!
I also get caught up on gossip, because our other neighbor, who is known as Nosey Rosey, calls Helen every night. She called Helen to tell her she is mad at two of the neighbors!
Rosey is mad at the rental house next to Helen because they do not take care of their yard. It does look pretty bad with weeds growing, but Rosey takes it to the next level. First she threatened to turn them into the city if they did not mow. So they mowed and it looks somewhat better. Rosey also washes the bird poop off of her fence each day. (Then Matt and I witnessed her pounding something with a long stick on the neighbor's side of the fence just the other day!)
Rosey is also mad at the nice neighbors on the corner b/c she went out in her front yard and stepped in dog poop! And it was small poop and they have small dogs. Well, I felt bad b/c I think it was my dog who pooped in her yard...I did not have anything to clean it up with when Bows and I were on a walk. (So I feel like I should apologize to the neigbors for the wrath of Rosey!)
To make things funnier, Helen said she told Rosey "Well I guess we all are not perfect like you Rosey." :-) Helen says she can always tell Rosey is drunk when she calls her because she hears the clink of ice in a glass. I told Helen next time she calls to say to Rosey, "Well I had better go have a drink now." Ha!
I just love little old ladies and neighborhood gossip!

That is so funny! After we dropped off your veil we stopped in the alley to talk to Rich (he lives across your alley and toward Rosey's house, and he has an old van he was working on). Anyway, we told him we had friends down the alley and that it seemed like a nice neighborhood. He said, yes, all except the old neighbors. LOL! Do you think he was talking about Rosy?
Oh I am sure he meant her! She gets so mad at him that she goes and tells him what to do. However, he needs to clean up all the extra crap he has back there. If I worked for SC, I'd site him for nuisance. :-)
