Christmas with the Sioux Falls family

Sarah and Bows
Xander, Sarah, Bows and Me

We have started our Christmas celebrations. Last weekend I held my annual cookie exchange and today (Sunday, Dec. 20th) we invited Matthew's side of the family down from Sioux Falls, Brandon and Canton, S.D.

I think it's so fun that Matthew has cousins his own age. I have one cousin on each side of my family and one lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the other one is about 17 years older than me., so to have cousins close by and in our age range is fun. We had chili, cheese dip and TONS of sweets (cookies, banana cake, dipped pretzels, chocolate marshmallow bars and lots more). Katie and James' son Xander is almost 2 and was our source of entertainment letting us know where stars were and playing with his new toy with his Grandma Barb.

Then as soon as Matt's family left an ambulance and fire truck showed up on our street and went to our neighbor Helen's house. I was so worried she had passed away, but she had fallen in her kitchen and literally could not get up. So, we are dog sitting for her wild maltese Magnolia while Helen is in the hospital. Not sure Bows is happy about the arrangement...especially sharing her food.
