6-Week Graham Update

Graham is 6 weeks old! He is getting so big and wearing 3-6 month size sleepers. He weighs 12 pounds, 4 ounces, and his hands and feet are getting really big. (You know how they say if a dog has large paws as a puppy then he/she will be a big dog? I wonder if that's true for a baby with large hands and feet?) I've started packing away his 0-3 month size clothes and even some of his just 3-month size clothes are getting a bit tight (in the length). DSCN3517 Graham will "coo" and make noises like he is talking, and follow people with his eyes. He has very expressive big blue eyes and he has "old man" hair where the lower part of his hair is filling in, but the top is pretty sparse. DSCN3513 We are still doing the every 3-hour sleep training. We start the day by changing his diaper, feeding him, playing for 1.5 hours then putting him down for a 1.5 hour nap. And, we continue this all day (with some flexibility if we have guests or need to go somewhere). It seems to be working, because he will sleep for 4-5 hours at night. He usually goes to bed around 10-10:30 p.m. and sleeps until 2:30-5, depending on the night then goes back down until 7-7:30 a.m. DSCN3522 Graham had his first bout of not feeling well. He would start screaming whenever I tried to nurse him and we'd have one heck of a time then he had many icky diapers. We finally started to piece together that maybe he did not feel well, and after a few challenging days he went to bed well and woke up feeling better. We did give him some of the unflavored Pedialyte and that seems to have calmed his tummy. It's so hard not knowing what's wrong when they can't talk. I have a hard time knowing what to do when Tootsie does not feel well, too. DSCN3523

Dad feeding him Pedialyte. He would make such an icky face, so we knew he did not like it very much.

Graham went on his first "date" with Gianna to Red Robin. Of course, he slept during the entire date and woke up to cry just as she was leaving. It's so fun to compare the two of them and see how delicate her features are compared to Graham's manly features. DSCN3503 (Gianna was very interested in the play mat. I just love her big eyes!)
