Every day is different, because Matthew works a rotating shift schedule. So, I will write about a day when Matthew is on day shift. These are probably my least favorite days, because he leaves before we wake up and is not home until Behrend is in bed and Graham is ready for bed.
6-7 a.m. -- I hear Behrend on the baby monitor and hope he goes back to sleep until 7 a.m. I get up, let the dog out, go to the bathroom and go nurse the baby.
7:30-8 a.m. -- Graham wakes up and we go make breakfast. Usually oatmeal on days Matthew is working. It's quick and Graham likes to put lots of toppings on it.
8:30-10 a.m. -- I change the boys, get them dressed, and we play until Behrend has naptime. We are trying a later nap in the mornings around 10 a.m., because he was fighting 9 a.m. nap.
10-11:30 a.m. -- Graham and I unload the dishwasher (we do way too many dishes! I broke down and bought paper plates finally.), I do my hair and makeup while Graham brushes his teeth and gets water all over the bathroom, and sometimes we watch Youtube videos of Thomas the Train.
11:30-noon -- Behrend wakes up, nurses and if we are going somewhere we load him up in the carseat with some toys while I scramble to get Tootsie in her kennel and Graham in his coat. We will often go out for lunch and today we went to McD's to meet David since he worked at Target and my parents and grandparents.
Noon-1:30 p.m. -- We out on our an adventure then head home for naps.
2-3:30 p.m. -- Naptime for both boys. Graham does not always take a nap, but he has to sit in his crib with books for quiet time. Mom needs quiet time. This is when I run around quickly trying to get dishes, laundry, dinner done.
3:30-5:15 p.m. -- The boys are up and we play and watch "Ellen" if it's a weekday. Today I went down to run on the treadmill while Graham played on his rollercoaster and Behrend sat in the Exersaucer. Then it's time to make dinner.
5:15-6 p.m. -- We eat dinner. Behrend is just starting to eat purees and some solids, so he sits on the table in his new chair and I try to remember to feed him while making sure Graham is eating and not feeding Tootsie.
6-6:30 p.m. -- Bathtime! Both boys go straight from dinner to bath.
6:30-7 p.m. -- We wait for Daddy to arrive home. He and Graham sit at the table while I nurse Behrend and put him to bed. Often Graham will eat a "second" dinner with Matthew.
7:30-8 p.m. -- Graham and Matthew go read books then it's bedtime for Graham. Then I breathe a sigh of relief and hope Behrend sleeps through the night. He's hit or miss on that lately, but I hope once he's a bit older he will sleep through the night consistently.
8-10 p.m. -- I take a bath, put on my pjs, always eat a snack, and watch TV with Matthew then head to bed!
