Our little guy is half a year old! And, if I do say so he's looking a lot like his mama. Although he has all of Graham's facial expressions, which all come from Matthew except for the poopy face. That comes from me, too.
Behrend is still such a sweet little guy except when he's sick. Then that kid is all drama. The poor guy had shots, a horrible cough/cold and got his two bottom teeth last week, so life has not been kind to him. He is still very talkative and has started to babble...I really swear he's trying to say "Mama"!
He adores his big brother Graham and wants to play with all his toys. They get along well except when Graham tries to smoosh Behrend's head or lay one too many non-gentle kisses on him. We figure Graham will have to worry soon enough about payback, because it looks like Behrend is on track to be taller than Graham! At his six month check up he was 18 pounds 15 ounces and 28 inches long! That is 97th percentile for height and 74th percentile for weight.
He still nurses about 8-10 times during the day and will not take a bottle much to his mother's dismay. We have started him on some solids like oatmeal with cinnamon and green beans and prunes, but he really just wants milk. I think once he can sit up in the high chair we will start with chunks of veggies and fruit. Right now he leans a bit too much so we have to strengthen those abs to hold up his big brain.
We are borrowing a Jumperoo from MOPS mom and Behrend loves it! He finally figured out how to jump and just goes for it. Check out the video below to see both boys.
All in all Behrend is a chill guy and I hope he continues to grow into a sweet one year old over the next six months.
