Matthew and I were talking the other day about all the states we have been to. We each have been to quite a few, some the same, some different, but we both have the ultimate goal to see all 50 states.
And, if one of us has been to the state, but the other has not, then we must go back. This year we did pretty good with our traveling: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and California.
Here are the 26 states I have visited:

5. D.C.
6. Idaho
7. Illinois
8. Iowa
9. Kansas
10. Michigan
11. Minnesota
12. Missouri
13. Montana
14. Nebraska
15. Nevada
16. New Jersey

19. Oklahoma
20. Pennsylvania
21. South Dakota
22. Texas
23. Utah
24. Virginia
25. Wisconsin
26. Wyoming
(And, I am not sure if I ventured outside of D.C. into Maryland on a college trip, so I will not count that one.)

Well, I'm glad to hear that you have to come back to Connecticut since Matt hasn't been here (to my knowledge). Amy and I also want to see all 50 states sometime, so if you want traveling buddies for a trip to Hawaii, let us know. :)
