I always used to say "Do I look like I run? No." Who knew that after joining my fun exercise class of 40+ year old adults that I would discover running is not so bad. It's a simple exercise I can do anywhere, but I really love to run around my neighborhood.
There is the perfect mix of hills, rolling plains and steep inclines that keep me entertained. My favorite time of day to run is in the eveing around 8 p.m. just as the sun is setting. I love to see people's houses lit up at night (I usually get some good decorating ideas) and it's nice and quiet in the neighborhood.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am considering running in the Lewis and Clark marathon, but first there is the Race for Hope at the Adam's Nature Preserve on Sept. 19 (sign up now!) and I want to be able to run the 3.3 miles. So last night I did a warm up lap around the block with the little doggie then it was in the house for Bows as I battled the humidity for my 2-mile run.
Tonight is supposed to be a 3-mile run and strenth training. I have a Junior League meeting, so maybe I will go afterwards. I know I should get up in the morning when it's cooler, but I love getting every last minute of sleep possible. :-)
