This weekend Bows and I were on our own while Matthew went on a guys' trip to NHRA races in Topeka, Kansas. The weekend did not start well since Bows had a mini stroke, but by that evening she was feeling lots better.
I took advantage of my free time and watched endless hours of Gilmore Girls on DVD. (Thanks Steph!)
I baked spice cookies and did tons of laundry and mooched dinner off my parents.
I also went for two bike rides and three walks/runs and had dinner with my neighbor Helen, who's 86.
Brianna and I went to Bacon Creek Park on Sunday and it was gorgeous!
We managed to run a good portion of the 3.1 miles, but those little hills are hard!
The best part was the family of geese we saw along the trail!
So cute! But we did not get close because the adults were eyeing us.
Brianna and I also made a DQ run on Friday for my friend Becca. She was in need of caramel and ice cream and I even ate a tiny vanilla ice cream cone and it was soooo good.
Then my Dad and I went to see the new Earl May on Sunday afternoon.
They are growing a pineapple!
When Matthew got home on Sunday we took Bows for a walk around the block.
We spied a robin sitting in her nest in the neighbor's tree.
Then we walked to HyVee for groceries and got some new liquor--cake vodka and chocolate cake vodka.
And we grilled brauts and hamburgers for dinner. A great way to end the weekend.
This week we have my brother's softball game, Reed's preschool graduation, a work meeting in Ponca and friends coming to visit for Memorial Day weekend.
