It has been a busy weekend at our house! On Friday night we had Matthew's parents and brother over for dinner to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. Matthew smoked some delicious ribs and I made a strawberry rhubarb dump cake. Both were mouth wateringly good! And, Uncle Mark held Graham for the first time! Graham enjoyed tugging on his long beard.
On Saturday we went to the Farmers' Market and purchased snap peas, green beans, a cucumber and a piece of Snickers cheesecake for Matthew. Tootsie took the opportunity to poop while walking down the market, and I did not notice until we were down from it, so I had to go back and pick it up. Embarrassing!
In the afternoon, Matthew and Graham stayed home to play/nap while I went with Kellee and Sara to Alex's bridal shower at the Pierce Mansion. Alex got a lot of nice presents and the cake was delicious! Kara, Angela, and Alison also sat at our table. When I got home Matthew went to the tractor pull with Jon in Rock Valley, Iowa and Graham and I went to my parents' house for dinner.
Sunday morning I headed to church solo while Matthew stayed home with Graham for naptime and so he could watch Steve King on one of his favorite Sunday morning news programs. Then we went for a walk and toured an open house in our neighborhood. It's a gorgeous two-story home with tons of space. If we had plans to stay in SC I'd definitely want to move into that house now.
Sunday night my parents, my brother, Miss Lauri and my grandparents came over for Bob Roe's pizza to celebrate my dad's birthday (which was actually on Saturday). My mom made an ulgy duckling cake (it has coconut and brown sugar), too.
By the end of the weekend this is how we all felt. Ready to lay on the couch like Tootsie and call it a weekend.
This week is pretty low-key with book club for me and jazz at Alfredo's for Matthew. Next week we celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary!
