Four years of wedded bliss

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary! Time sure flies when you are young(ish) and in love....and so tired from a baby not sleeping through the night. (Ha!) So, we might look a bit older than last year, but we are still having fun!

I never understood when people would say that the true test of marriage is to have a baby, but now I get it. I thought the true test of our relationship would be during my battle with cancer and six months of chemotherapy, but that was just the beginning. Having Graham was the best thing we've done in our marriage, but also one of the hardest. Having a baby is like having a full-time job...on top of working at a full-time job. Graham needs constant love and attention, but he's so darn cute that we can't help but give it to him!

(Also, having Tootsie is definitely a test for our marriage. That darn dog is quite the little terror. Good thing she's cute or Matthew might have dropped her off at Baby Jane's house down the block by now.)

We've gone through a lot of changes during our marriage and I thought it'd be fun to sum it up:
--Matthew went to college full-time and graduated with a degree in Industrial Technology Education
--I have had the same job for over five years (my longest job to date)
--Matthew and a friend created a lawnmowing/snow removal partnership...now Matthew owns his own lawn spraying business
--Matthew started his first teaching job and is on his second year
--We gutted our bathroom and Matthew remodeled it (over a year-long period)
--We remodeled our kitchen (did not take quite as long)
--We have road tripped to Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Park; Grapevine, Texas; Burbank, California; Bemidji, Minnesota; and Walker, Wisconsin
--We bought our first brand new car (What a lemon!)and have been through quite a few trucks
--We planted a tree in our yard
--We lost our first dog and adopted a new dog
--We joined a church
--We had a baby!
--And, I started a blog to document our family life

I hope we keep adding to this list! Life is not always easy, but it's fun with a great partner by your side.
