My grandparents Sid and Lois Hoover celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary yesterday. Wow. In this day and age of divorce that is a pretty awesome accomplishment to stay married and in love for 59 years. I asked my grandparents how it felt to be married for 59 years and my grandma said it has gone by fast while my grandpa said it's been a long time. Ha! :-)
Matt and I are getting married on July 25 and I hope to be able to stay together for 50+ years....that'd make me 77 and Matt would be 75. My grandpa will be 82 in July and my grandma is going to be 80 in November.

I feel that our generation is probably going to be more like your grandparents' generation in terms of marital longevity and such. Plus, you're getting married at the perfect age of 27.
Won't it be fun trying to beat the record set by your grandparents? Mine have been together for 65 years this October.
Wow! My grandparents (the ones I knew well) celebrated just over 50 years before my grandma died. It's really an inspiration to us all. What's neat about old people is they've really lived through a lot with their marriage...in my grandparent's case: depression, WWII, Vietnam, Cold War, and everything in between. By the time we're all that age it will be amazing to see what we've survived through.
