The 13th annual Race for Hope was a HUGE success. Over 750 people signed up to walk/run in the 15K, 5K or Kid's 1K. It was a beautiful day and everything was very organized this year. I am so glad to have been a part of the Race for Hope committee. My fellow Hodgkin's survivor Kristen and I were in charge of door prizes and gift certificates for the winning teams. Once I started asking, it was amazing how many local businesses wanted to help out. (Thanks businesses in Siouxland!)
I walked/ran the 5K with my friends Chris and Jennifer. My husband Matthew ran the entire 5K in 24 minutes without any prior training. Must be those mad military skills he acquired in the army.
I am going to run in the Omaha Race for the Cure on Oct. 4th, so I just created a new playlist to get me motivated to run. On my list is:
Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship
Sabotage by Kristinia
Run this Town by Jay Z and Rhianna
Sweet Dreams by Beyonce
Use Somebody by Kings of Leon
