Labor Day Shenanigans!

Matthew and I had a busy Labor Day weekend. He worked all-day Saturday, so I did some household chores, then Bows and I went to visit "Cookie" Grandma and Grandpa, my parents and had coffee/pop with Miss Lauri, Katie and my mom. David came over to watch the football game that night. We went to church on Sunday and there were tons of wildflowers growing on the hill behind our church.
On Sunday, we ventured up to Artsplash at Grandview Park. It was fun, except the artist area was too crowded. We listened to Tonic Sol Fa and ate kettle korn.

There was some interesting art, incluing dog paintings. Check out the Bows look-a-like....no we did not buy that painting.

We also did not buy these sculptures, but they were fun to look at.

Matt found a $7,800 statue he thought was neat. But not $7,800 neat.

Nick, Katie and Miss Lauri did the adults Hands-On art painting. They turned out really cool.

We also went to Steph's 30th birthday party at her brother's house. It was a lot of fun and Steph was handling the big 3-0 quite well. Doesn't she look damn good for 30? (Thanks for paving the way for me Steph!) Jennifer was in town, so she came with us to the party.

We also had a surprise visitor in our neighborhood on Saturday at 10 p.m. Just as we were almost home I again saw the 8-point buck who has been roaming our neighborhood. Can you spot him in the photo? The last time I saw him he was walking down the sidewalk on Indiana Avenue. Crazy.

Matthew worked all-day Monday, so Bows and I did lots of cooking/cleaning and watching old episodes of "Gilmore Girls." Sometimes it's nice to have a down day.

Then we hosted a cookout with my parents, grandparents and Aunt Paula and Uncle Bob. It was a good way to end the weekend.
