Weekend Warriors

This weekend we got a lot done around the house.  With the weather starting to cool off, I am worried it might be snowing before we know it.  Heck, Christmas is 3 months from yesterday. Gulp! Time flies so quickly after the 4th of July and Labor Day holidays.

So, Matthew finished roofing a friends' house on Saturday while Bows and I went to the Farmers' Market and Fareway for some groceries, to visit the grandparent's and to Barnes & Noble for coffee with a friend (obviously, Bows did not do that last thing).     I also did a 6.5 mile bike ride to the mall and was very upset that there was not one bike rack to be seen!  Luckily, I found a bench that was cemented down, so I chained my bike up outside of Chuck E. Cheese.

On Sunday we went to church.  Then we came home to start our busy day. Matthew installed a new window in our kitchen. (We will have two new windows in the kitchen and two in our bedroom this year plus the one in the bathroom. Only 8 more windows to go!)  Bows and I pulled out our dead flowers, put the flower pots away for winter and planted two sets of orange lillies my parents gave to us. I am trying to fill my flower beds with perennials to cut down on costs and maintenance.  (Tip: If you ever move you can write into your contract that you are allowed to take flowers with you or if it's winter, you can come back in the spring to get them. My mom did at our old house.)
Bows was quite the supervisor for the day. She never lets me out of her sight and if I do venture off, she started whining.  It's a great thing....preparing me for kids I think. Although sometimes I wonder if Bows is more work than a baby. :-)
After our busy day, Matthew and I headed to Applebee's for dinner. I have not been there for ages and it was not busy.  And, Bows stayed home to take a nap.
When we got home I convinced Matthew to go on a 3-mile walk with me. And, then I promptly came home and crashed for a busy week of meetings, dinners, and pre-vacation anticipation!
