1) After I made my Dedicated December plan, the weather took a turn....for the cold and icy. I ran my last outside run on Dec. 1st and since then I have been housebound. I've done workout DVDs, and card exercises, but I get bored really easily. Then I found a solution to my workout problem--join a gym. I am no stranger to gyms. In college my roommate Betsy and I went to the Fieldhouse (BV's gym) a bit and after college I went to Curves with my roommate Steph. Then I did a 6-week program at the YMCA and it was a great facility, but too far out of my way to make it part of my routine. Then WIT opened a new Student Center just up the hill and I knew it was too close to miss out on. They have a great membership rate and I can join in 6-month increments. I joined yesterday over my lunch hour and I went last night to work out.
2) And it's a good thing I went because I have been eating way too many cookies! I told Matt to hide our latest batch of cookies, so that I don't eat any more or they will be gone by this weekend....or tomorrow.
3) I am almost done shopping. I need to get two presents for my uncle and brother and one more for Matthew then I am done. I love the commercials where people say "Bam! I am done." about their shopping.
4) I tried a new recipe last night from The Pioneer Woman cookbook. The recipe was for Comfort Meatballs and they were awesome. And, to get more veggies in our life I roast brussel sprouts, cauliflower and sweet potatoes/golden potatoes. I have never been disappointed by any of Ree's recipes, and I love to make her homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch.
5) Everyone and their mother appears to be sick this month. I have caught the dreaded throat thing where my voice sound scratchy and I feel fine all day until about 8 p.m. I hope we get a freeze that kills all these germs so we are all healthy for Christmas!
6) I am working on my New Year's resolutions. One of mine is to Be more patient with other people. My boss plans to stay more positive. I hope we can all keep our resolutions.
