Kitchen Remodel Update

While it has been looking like this outside (yes, winter is here in Iowa).

Our kitchen has been looking like this.

Matt had to cut out the outlet where we plug the stove in, because it was not anchored to a stud. It was just hanging in the wall. He also discovered another outlet that we plug our microwave into was arching. Hello!?! Fire hazard, perhaps?

My one job with the kitchen remodel was to paint. I have to say thanks to Betsy, Nellie and Rebecca for helping us paint. Painting is one chore I seriously dislike.
We painted the nook Valspar's La Fonda Boulder, which is the same color as our living room.

And the kitchen is Dutch Boy's Dura Clean Antique White.  It is really a warm white and will match the white squares in our tile.   I think our kitchen looks larger and taller without the red walls. I never realized how small the red made our kitchen feel/look.

And, we can't have a post wtihout Bows. She got a bath last night, because she was smelling like a dog.

We have ordered a new countertop (a dark brown shiny laminate) and have purchased our backsplash and grout.  Our plan is to have the kitchen finished by Easter when we are hosting my side of the family for dinner.

Happy Leap Day!
