Sunday, June 16 marked Matthew's first Father's Day.
Matthew is a great dad and such a natural. Since the day Graham was born Matthew has been an equal partner in this game of parenting.
Every night that Graham woke up while I was home on maternity leave, Matthew got up to change his diaper before I nursed him. This was while Matthew was working full time and had a 45-minute commute to work each morning.(And, he still gets up with me most nights if Graham wakes up.)
Matthew never makes me feel guilty about taking a night to go to Junior League or book club or to see friends. He steps in and has "man" time with Graham.
He is willing to stay home with Graham during his summers off from teaching. Matthew even has a nap routine down and takes Graham for a walk each morning then they read books, have tummy time, and play outside.
Matthew has given Graham his nightly bath since the day we came home from the hospital. And, he always gets his ears and neck cleaner than I can get them.
Graham inherited his dad's cleft in the chin, long legs and facial profile. Looking at Graham is like a mini-me of Matthew. I just love it!
Happy first Father's Day Matthew!
