Being away makes me apprecite HOME

On Sunday, I drove down to Des Moines with my co-worker for more training. This time we sat through 3 days of lecture and took a test to see if we will be certified as "tax credit compliance specialists." (We get our test results in one month.)
There were four of us who took the test and we got to stay in the Hotel Fort Des Moines. It was a very historic place (by that I mean old). :-) However, my room was clean and I have stayed in much worse places (ie: North Platte, Neb. Royal Colonial Inn that had black mold in the bathroom-yuck!).
The plus side was that I got to have dinner one night with Glenda and Erin O'Brien. I always have plenty of laughs with Erin along. She has the neatest sense of humor and I have known her forever. (Our moms grew up together.) Then I saw Judy Prunty and the Zedikers (Bobbie and Keith) for dinner the other night. I don't get down to Des Moines too often, so I love to see all of my peeps!
However, after the 3rd night in a motel I really just wanted to go home. I got home around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night and then Thursday it was back to work. I had a lunch meeting for the Young Adult Cancer Support Group and I had Junior League that night, so tonight I am enjoying being home! When you are so busy, it makes you appreciate sitting on your booty on the couch and watching some T.V. and spend time with your family. In this case, I plan to snuggle with Bows and talk Matt's ear off. :-)
