California Dreamin'

On Wed, Feb. 18, Nellie and I flew on a jet plane to Burbank, California to visit my mom's side of the family. We did a ton of sight seeing and enjoyed the warmer temps. On Thursday we shopped and lunched in Santa Clarita, then we went to Universal Studios City Walk for my cousin Tammy's boyfriend's birthday. We had tequila sunrises at Howl at the Moon - a dueling piano bar. Then on Friday we spent the entire day at Disneyland (see photo above-Nellie and I met Chip and Dale!). It was a great day, but man were we tired! Saturday we went to lunch at Islands with (see above photo, left to right, Tammy, me, Doug, Iona, Carol, Beverly, Linda and Nellie). My Grandpa's cousin Doug and his wife Carol were visiting from Sioux Falls, SD. That night Nellie, Tammy and I went to Lancaster for Tara's 30th birthday party. She had a murder mystery theme. (See above photo of four-Tammy, me, Tara and her brother Michael). The last day in California we went to Farmer's Market for lunch then visited the Santa Monica Pier and saw the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Nellie and I met three photographers from Australia and they took our photo.
It was a great trip and Nellie is an easy and fun friend to travel with. Plus I got to see my favorite Great Aunts Beverly (in blue sweatsuit) and Iona (in purple shirt). They both are so fun and it always makes me sad to leave them.
