Last Thursday, Matthew, Bows and I left Iowa via I-29 to a cooler destination: Bemidji, Minnesota.
Can you tell Bows was soooo excited about an 8-hour car ride?
We could tell we entered into Minnesota when the trees became thicker.
And then we were at Ruttger's Birchmont on Lake Bemidji.
We stayed in a cabin on the lake with a nice screened in front porch.
The lodge kind of reminds me of the lodge in the movie "Dirty Dancing."
This was the best part of our cabin....the view!
The first night we were there Matthew and I ate dinner at the lodge.
The next day we got up early...well, early for me...to enjoy our view.
Bows hates water, so she stayed clear of the lake and the sand, but we made her walk on the dock.
Stay tuned for a visit to Paul Bunyan, two 17-mile bike rides and trips to two state parks.
