Yesterday was an epic day. My Mom and I drove down to Omaha to get our cookbooks signed by the one and only Pioneer Woman. Have you heard of her? If you have not, you must be living under a rock.
The Pioneer Woman has a blog (http://thepioneerwoman.com/), three cookbooks, two children's books, a romance novel, and a cooking show. Plus she has been featured on tons of TV shows from GMA to the Today Show to The Chew and many more.
The Pioneer Woman is actually Ree Drummond. She is a wife and mom of four who lives on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma. She is also an amazing cook who uses butter in almost every recipe. And, almost 1,000 people came to have her autograph cookbooks in Omaha on Monday night.
One lady said she drove four hours to the book signing!
Did I mention her husband, who the Pioneer Woman refers to as the Marlboro Man, was on hand to take pics and sign autographs?!! That might have been the best part of the evening!
We finally left Omaha around 8 p.m. to head home and thankfully Betsy and Steph stayed in line with our cookbooks. I owe them big time, because they both are teachers that had to work today. They finally got the cookbooks signed at 11:53 p.m. Holy moly! That is friendship and dedication! Thanks so much Betsy and Steph!
Now I can hardly wait to start making recipes out of her holiday cookbook! And, it was great to see Lauri, Emily, Katie, Betsy, Steph, and Kathy on a weeknight!
