It's time to start the baby updates! Time is definitely scarce now that we have a 14-month old running around and a baby due in 20.5 weeks! I know life will be busy for many years to come, but it is exciting to start another chapter. We are so excited to see Graham as a big brother and seeing as how he is a genius (according to his Grandma Nancy) and beautiful (according to his Grandma Patty) we know he will share his smarts and good looks with this baby, too.
Due Date: August 25, 2014
Gender: We do not know. We have the option to do an ultrasound at 20-25 weeks. Matthew does not want to find out, but part of me thinks it'd be fun to know....and keep it a secret!
Feeling: Super tired! I started getting tired in December and even went to the doctor to see why I was so tired and extremely cold. The doctor could find nothing wrong. I had great iron and my thyroid levels were fine. I figured it out myself on Christmas Day when we found out we are expecting.
Weight: Ten pounds. I have definitely gained more weight with this baby than with Graham. I became pregnant with Graham during the summer so I was still running and taking tons of walks with Tootsie. This year it has been so cold and our basement is freezing so I've had a hard time making myself go to the basement to walk on the treadmill.
Clothes: I can still fit into my regular clothes, but I have started to break out some of the maternity ones for something new to wear. (Thanks Kristin and Kellee!) It will be nice to wear dresses this summer since I will be pregnant in the dead heat of summer.
Doctor: For Graham's pregnancy I went to a regular Obgyn office, because that's what you do when you are pregnant, right? Well, that's what most people do, but I have asked around and done research. This time I am going to a family doctor and I love her laidback approach. After all, pregnancy is a natural process and I hope to have another unmedicated birth. (Perhaps not 24 hours of labor with three hours of pushing. Are you listening baby?)
Nursery: Right now our plan is to remodel our upstairs for the master bedroom then put the new baby in one of the rooms downstairs. Still no clue on a crib or pack and play apprach, but leaning towards a pack and play since Graham will not be in the crib forever. At this rate he will be too long for it soon!
Things we need: I think we just need a crib (or pack and play) since we have everything else a baby needs. (Just go look in our basement.) If we do have a girl then I can purchase clothes later. We did not know if Graham would be a boy or girl so we have lots of yellow onsies and sleepers. Perfect for either a boy or girl, and that's what babies wear for the first many months of their lives.
Names: We have two girls names we both like, however, a boys name is up in the air. Matthew has one he really likes, but I am hoping to persuade him to pick one we both like. Or it might come down to a coin toss again!
19.5weeks down....20.5 to go!
