The ninth installment of the M.O.M. series features my new friend and book club member Joyce. Joyce is a busy single mom of a teenager and she runs her own daycare! Joyce is a great sounding board and I love her dry sense of humor. I am taking notes on how she is handling being a mom to a teenage boy, so I am somewhat prepared for Graham to grow up.
1. Name and Age: Joyce, age 37
2. Children: Andrew, age 16
3. I felt like a mom when I brought Andrew home from the hospital. I had absolutely no idea what to do with him. It was a learning experience.
4. My favorite aspect of being a mom...is having that unconditional love. Also when he's so excited he comes home to tell me all about it.
5. My least favorite aspect of being a mom...discipline.
6. The mom I look up to...would be my own mother...she was with me from the beginning and I couldn't do it without her.
7. Do moms ever get enough sleep?...No, moms never get enough sleep!
8. Advice for new moms...Hang in there. Being a mother is the best feeling in the world! All that child wants and needs is YOU!
9. My easiest dinner...frozen pizza.
10. My favorite non-mom thing to do is...shop.
Thanks Joyce!
