Hodgkin's Lymphoma Step II

So, after I was given my diagnosis and released from the hospital the same day as my surgery I was told I had a PET scan scheduled at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center the next day. I called work and said I would not be in for a few days.
I went home and began the long process of calling friends and family to inform them of my cancer diagnosis. Then I had my grandparents come over and told them I had cancer. That was really hard and my grandpa did not want to make eye contact, because I think he was going to burst out crying. My grandma held my hand and then gave me a hug and my mom a hug. I felt so bad that my family had to go through this. It is so much easier when you hear of a distant person having cancer.
Matt came over that night, because my parents had tickets to the opera and I made them go out and be "normal." I think he wondered what sight would greet him when he saw me. Instead of a bawling mess, I was composed and ready to talk. Just having him there with me was reassuring, but part of me wondered how much of this battle he would want to be part of. After all, we had only dated for 7 months and were still in the "new" stage.
The next day my mom and I headed to the cancer center for my PET scan. (A 25-minute scan of your entire body after you are injected with radioactive dye.) Afterwards I was hungry since I could not eat beforehand, so my mom, brother, Miss Laurie and I had lunch at Red Lobster. Then I received a phone call from Dr. Morris' office saying I was scheduled for surgery next Thursday to have a port placed in my chest. That's when things began moving quickly...
