Birthdays All Around!

This weekend I celebrated my 29th birthday.
The end of my 20's is in sight....but I have really enjoyed my 20's. It has been a great time of getting to know who I really am, and what I really want out of life. Plus I met my husband, traveled many places, made new friends, and learned that I love to garden, run, and that life is too short so keep on doing what you love.
I started my birthday celebration on Friday when Kristi bought me a red velvet cupcake from Starbucks. Yum!
Then Ken and Patty had us over for spaghetti and meatballs on Friday, and it was nice enough that I jogged to their house! (Yay for warm weather!)
Then on Saturday we went to James and Katie's house for Miranda's first birthday party.
She turned 1 on the 18th, my bday is the 20th and Jason's is the 21st--happy birthday to us!

Miranda is such a happy little girl and she was not too keen on the cupcake until her mom started to feed her. :-) She got lots of fun toys and enjoyed playing with her cousin Sarah (who looked great after having her tonsils out!).

Miranda's brother Xander is also absolutely adorable and his smile will melt girls' hearts as he grows up. Here he played with his Grandma Barb, and some of Miranda's new toys.

I got tons of cute clothes for my birthday presents!
Sara and Nick got me this cute dress, my mom got me two sweaters,
and my Aunt Janet got me new exercise clothes.
Matt also made me "Better than Crack" Brownies (recipe to come!)
and we had Nick, Sara, Chris and Jennifer come over.
Chris got me the "Clue: The Office" game, so we played that. It was a lot of fun and Matt ended up guessing the winning killer, who was Pam with the poisoned pretzel!

Bows got me lots of kisses and barks, and another trip to the vet.
Twice in one week is bad. You know it's bad when your vet goes "What's wrong now?"
Hehe, but he did agree that Bows was "Born Fabulous" like her t-shirt said.
Luckily, she's getting back to her ornery self. She tells me it's hell to get old. :-)
On Sunday, my parents had Matt and I over for hamburgers on the grill. My poor brother David had to stand outside in the cold (yes, our warm weather disappeared), but man did the hamburgers taste good! I got two Glee cds, the Season 1 of Glee, clothes, a subscription to Food Network magazine, and two new flags.
Then that evening my friend Rebecca called to see if I wanted to come over and see her sister Sarah. Of course! And, they tempted me with the promise to order Chinese food (my fav!).

Rebecca (center), Sarah (right) and I grew up about 2 blocks from each other. We became friends in grade school and hung out until high school then my family moved about 6 blocks away. To this day, we can't pinpoint why we stopped hanging out, but I reconnected with Rebecca on Facebook. We live less than a mile apart, so we've started hanging out again. And, I got to see Sarah again after 10 years! It's like we can just pick up where we left off and chat away. I also love how Sarah and Rebecca just go with the flow and they painted Rebecca's kitchen while their 10 kids were running around the house. I have trouble getting things done with Bows in the house. Ha!

So again, Happy Birthday to everyone!
I think 29 will be a great year!
