Girls' Weekend: Change of Plans

Last weekend, I was supposed to go to Lincoln for Girls' Weekend. However, my friend Nellie has been suffering from some weird stomach bug. (I hope you are feeling better Nellie!)

So, instead I went to Omaha then Betsy, Jennifer, and I drove to Lincoln later that night to visit their high school friend Natalie and her new baby girl Trudy.

Trudy is absolutely adorable and was so much fun to hold and giggle with when she got the hiccups. :-) Jennifer remarked that Trudy and Nellie will get along great, because Nellie always gets the hiccups. Natalie seemed to really be enjoying motherhood and looks great! You'd never know she gave birth last week!

We also stayed at Betsy's parents' house and played a mean game of Just Dance on the Wii after eating dinner at Bison & Witches (great sandwiches!) and eating dessert at Red Mango Frozen Yogurt. My favorite song on Just Dance was "Walk Like an Egyptian" and it was a good workout.

We went to lunch on Saturday at Jones Bros. Cupcakes (http://jonesbroscupcakes.com) and it was delish! We each had a sandwich then saved room for a cupcake.

Betsy and Jennifer had a Black and White Cupcake that involved chocolate, vanilla frosting and Godiva Chocolate Liquor. Yum!

I chose the Sweet and Salty Cupcake.

It was a chocolate cupcake with a caramel and sea salt center with light chocolate frosting.

In a word: yum!

It's a good thing we went for a walk before eating cupcakes!

Then we walked around the Oakview Mall, I bought two more Christmas presents, and we went out for margaritas and Mexican food at La Mesa after we got our make up done.
