40th Anniversary of the Discovery Shop

Sioux City Mayor Tom Padgett presents JL President Mary Green-Warnstadt with a commendation for the shop's 40th anniversary.

League members Krista Wassenaar, Sandy Nation, Administrative Assistant Kay Jenness, and Lisa Wise were at the shop's open house.

Past (and present) Discovery Shop chairs, including the first chair Nancy Giles, were present for the open house.

Forty years ago, the Junior League of Sioux City opened the Discovery Shop. Since 1971, the shop has moved many times and is now located on West 7th Street near downtown Sioux City. It is the only fundraiser for the SCJL and it's a great opportunity to find bargains that have been donated by League members and the community.
