Despite our colds and sickness last week we had some fun visitors for the Race for Hope! (And, we got to see Aunt Pat from Denver and Miss Lauri!) Nellie arrived at our house on Friday night and got some good quality Graham time.
And, Tootsie was very excited to see Nellie.
On Saturday we were up bright and early for the 17th Annual Race for Hope! Every year my friends come back for the race that fundraises money for the June E. Nylen Cancer Center. It was a beautiful morning and despite my icky cold I decided to run the 5K with Matthew. He even offered to run with me (gasp)! Of course, he told me this was like a company run in the Army when the faster people would run with the slow, fat people to keep them moving on a run. Thanks honey!
My brother and Dad came to the race while my Mom stayed home with Graham.
Rebecca and Liam came for the first time!
And, despite Rebecca's nasty cold she walked the entire 5K, sometimes with Liam on her back! That's dedication. And, Betsy drove up early Saturday morning from Omaha to come to the race. That's dedication, because Betsy is not a morning person.
Kristin came with baby Chloe for the first time, too! Chloe slept in her Ergo during the entire walk, too.
Tootsie walked with my brother the entire time, and man was she hungry afterwards! She even ate bread, which she usually turns up her nose and ignores.
Jon and Alex came for the first time, too! I am loving all these new additions to the race!
And, Alison walked, too! This is not her first year at the race, but the first year I've known her and she's at the race.
It was an awesome race and I'm excited to see how much money we raised! This post is getting a bit long, so I will do part II tomorrow...
