Weekend Recap

DSCN4322

Hello new week! I am hoping this week goes much smoother. We are all battling colds/coughs in our house, so sleep is needed, but not at 100 percent right now. On Friday I had to work at a new Riverfaction event for 6th graders at the riverfront. It was a beautiful day and despite the fact that I had to hang out with 56 kiddos, I had fun and got a little sun! My parents watched Graham then we went home for some relaxation and naps before Matthew got home for dinner.

Yes this is how Tootsie likes to ride in the truck. Good thing Graham does not mind (and it helps he weighs 11 pounds more than her. Ha!)

Since my brother moved out of my parents' house we have started a new tradition of "family dinner" once a month. My mom makes yummy food and we hang out. Last month we had meatloaf and "fancy" spaghetti (a throwback from our childhood) and this month was roast beef, carrots, potatoes and my personal request of deviled eggs. Ha! I love weird food combos!

Saturday was spent at home watching football, making soup in the crockpot, going for a family walk and nursing our colds. Graham actually slept through the night on Saturday, but it must have been a one-time deal.

On Sunday we went to church for the first time as a family this summer. Our church just added two services, so we chose the 8:45 a.m. service and Graham did GREAT! We just kept him with us and he only laughed a few times during the sermon. Oh and he pooped, too, but after a quick diaper change he was back to business.

I also made a quick Target run (got a new charcoal grill for next summer on clearance!) and bought two Christmas presents for David. Then we grilled bbq bacon cheeseburgers with fresh tomatoes from our garden for lunch and took a 2-mile family walk. Matthew ran to Bomgaars then I went on a 3-mile run (woohoo!) while the guys watched football and Graham stood for almost 2 hours. That kid is a standing machine!

We ended the weekend with Jon and Alex bringing over dessert and the guys had fun weighing Graham. Turns out he's over 22 pounds (according to our scale at home). I hope you all had a great weekend, too!
