Happy June!
I can't believe summer is officially here and we have 12 weeks until Baby #2 arrives! Times to get things kicked into gear! Matthew finished the fence, so life is much simpler with gates to keep a dog and baby out of the alley and in the yard. We have a painter coming in a few weeks to paint our dormer and we are ordering new windows. Then we will switch the rooms around and get the new nursery ready.
In the meantime, we hung out at home and Matthew and Graham got lots of quality time together. I headed to a Junior League Race for the Cure event on Saturday morning with my friend Joyce while Matthew and Graham went to buy a weedwhacke and looked at some yards for possible spray accounts. Please note we found a handy Save A Lot store cart on the trail, so we "borrowed" it to carry the pink ribbon decorations. Don't worry, we returned the cart to the same place so the owner can find it.
Then we visited Aunt Paula and Uncle Bob after naptime. I got lots of rhubarb to make crisp and Alex came for dinner then Matt's parents came over for dessert. They could not stay long because my mother in law fell into the sistern in their backyard and bruised her leg from the thigh to knee. I swear that lady has more accidents than anyone I know!
On Sunday we all slept in until 8 a.m.! Then I seriously scrubbed the house from top to bottom (kitchen, bathroom, living/dining room) while Matthew and Graham washed the Honda. (Thus the reason why it started to rain at 11 a.m. on Sunday.) I headed to church to greet while the two guys got cleaned up and dried off. Whenever there is a hose, Graham gets soaked.
After naptime, we went to Memphis' first birthday party and ate some delicious cake while a big storm blew through Sioux City. Then we stopped by my parents before going home for dinner and a walk. Matthew and I also took advantage of Graham going to bed on time and ordered Chinese food for dinner. Yum!
This week Matthew has his first full week at his new job and we have no night meetings! Woohoo!
