Bows and Libby

Our good friend Emily and her boyfriend had the chance to drive to Phoenix this week, but they needed somewhere for their cockerspaniel Libby to stay, so she is crashing at our house until Sunday. At first I wondered how she'd do, but Libby is a very loving dog with good doggy manners, and she will put up with grouchy Bows. And, she's so active that she wears Bows out so she will sleep through the night (yay!).

(Case in point.  By the way, don't you love Bows' sweater collection?)

Matt and I enjoy having Libby around for different reasons. I love having a dog who can run with me. Now, I do love Bows, but she has the arthritis and can't run very well, or fast, or when she smells something great on a bush, tree, fire hydrant, sidewalk, flower, you get the picture. On Monday Libby and I ran 2 miles and on Wednesday we ran 3 miles. She was so tired when we got home that she crashed on the couch.

Matt enjoys having a cuddly dog. She sits right on his lap and watches TV with him and she literally pushes me off the bed, so she can snuggle right next to Matt. If I don't watch it, my husband might leave me for a cockerspaniel with big brown eyes.
