Day 2 Muscatine: Daytime

The second day we were in Muscatine began as a gloomy, cold day, so we did some shopping after driving around to three stores to find helium to blow up the balloons.  HyVee's helium was not working, the Dollar Tree refused to blow up the balloon we brought in because the clerk said she'd get fired, and finally at Walmart they agreed to blow it up. But we got a lecture on giving 24 hours notice.

Downtown Muscatine is really neat. We ate lunch at The Brew so the guys could watch the Iowa vs. Michigan game. The four of us ladies went to Elly's for treats and coffee. It was delish! And, we had a view of a barge going down the Mississippi River.

Then the sun came out, so we drove to Wild Cat Den State Park. It was gorgeous! There is also an old mill and a neat bridge.

The old mill.

Chris climbed up a big hill....then he had to figure out how to get down

Nellie

Look at how big this leaf is!

This was a lot steeper than it looks!

Matthew was the only one who could fit through this crack.

Stay tuned for a "Day of Planking" thanks to Brent and the Surprise Party at The Pearl.
