The Missouri River Flood 2011 continues in Iowa/Nebraska/South Dakota and further south. This photo shows Honey Creek, Iowa and I-29 with the Omaha skyline in the background. I-29 appears to rise out of the water on a road going nowhere.

I-29 is closed south of Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Here is a photo of the river invading farm fields near Blencoe, Iowa.

This is just south of Onawa, Iowa on I-29. DOT workers were lining I-29 with sandbags and the rest stops near I-29 were closed for a "staging" area.

(Sorry for the blurry pics, but one cannot stop on I-29 to gawk.)

The above photo was at the lowest spot on I-29. The water was lapping over the sandbags on I-29 and the road dips down so cars are below the water level. Pretty freaky.
