Wisconsin Day Trip

On Day #2 of our trip we journeyed 2 hours north to Chippewa Falls, Wis. Home of Leinenkugel's beer! David was very excited, because this is one of his favorite beers.

We walked across a pretty bridge to the brewery after enjoying a few free samples.

There was a parade in town that day, so there were some neat horses and old Leinenkugels' wagons on the property that we got to see.

After sampling some libations, we went to the Fill N Station for lunch. Which was a very small town restaurant, but we were so hungry that we ate lots of fried food and filled up our hungry tummies! Then we went to the Autumn Harvest Winery, just outside of Chippewa Falls.

It was starting to rain when we got there, so we slipped inside for some free samples. They have an orchard there, so most of their wine is made from apples.

The vineyards were beautiful and so green!

It was a nice stop before hitting the road back to Nelson, Wis.

Matthew wanted to take a shortcut, which put us on County Road D and in a gorgeous valley!

We saw a barn that was no longer usable, and some gorgeous homes.

Bows was a bit tired from the long day, so she slept.

There was a church that looked like it belongs in England!

The strange part was the road was done in section of asphault then it would be asphault covered in little black rocks then back to plain asphault. Matthew said he prefers riding on "normal" gravel than what the road material was in Wisconsin.

We made it back just in time to get ice cream for Matthew and David at the Nelson Creamery. It's a well-known place for cheese and ice cream. David got his cheese curds and was a happy camper.

Stay tuned for pics of Buena Vista Park and Stillwater, Minn.
